ClickBank ReadMe

This Read Me files aims to explain how you setup your Gateway (Credit Card processor) to work with MCP.

It is assumed that,
1. You have installed MCP on your site
2. That you have setup a members area and password protected it

Step 1)  Goto the Admin Menu (admin.pl) and select "Modify Settings" and press "Make Selection".

Step 2)  On Script Setup Page, go to "Which Company" dialog box.

Step 3)  Select "ClickBank" and press "Setup Script."

Step 4) Login into your Clickbank account.

Step 5) Follow the link, "Click HERE to modify your account".

Step 6) Follow the link, "Click HERE to modify your account" (same text, different link).

Step 7) It is the "Thank-you Pages" that you are interested in.

Step 8) Set the price of your product (in this example its $10.00). Set url to:

http://www.yoursite_name.com/cgi-bin/order/order.pl?x_processor=ClickBank
(Obviously change the domain name to your own)

Regardless of how many products you are selling with MCP / Clickbank the URL will ALWAYS be the same.

Step 9) Make note of the "Price of Page" number, in this case it is 1.

Step 10) If you have not set the "Secret Word" then you need to do so now, otherwise move on to Step 11.

Generating the "Buy Button" HTML.

Step 11) Goto admin.pl and select "Generate HTML to sell your products".

Step 12) Select the product you want to sell and the enter in the "Page number", that you got in Step 9 into the box.

All Done!

The generated code is your "buy button" HTML, put it on your page(s) and start selling

Secret Word Setup

1. You will only need to do this once. On the "Thank-you Pages" url setup page (Step 7). At the bottom you will see,
   
   
   
   
2. Set the "Secret Key" to some random value and press Save Changes. We have set it to "TANGO" for this demo. (Clickbank will convert your secret word to UPPER case, dont worry about it)
   
3. Go back to the "Settings Menu" in admin.pl and set the Secret Word value to the same as it is on ClickBank, for us it would be TANGO.
   
4. Press "Setup Script". Done, Secret Word setup.

FAQ

Q. How do I sell more than one product?
A. Simple, just do the exact same, just change the "Page Number" to what ever product you want to sell.

Q. Can I use custom fields with ClickBank.
A. No, ClickBank does not allow this.

Q. I check the "enable demo" box but it still chargin my card.
A. The ONLY way to do demo charge with Click Bank is to goto the "Thank-you pages" section and set the price of the product to $0.00. Then you can do a test purchase. Dont forget to change it back after finishing testing.

Q. I am getting an error message after returning from Clickbank, saying "Unable to verify...".
A. 99.99% this is because your secret word is not set correctly. Also please read this.
